On public program days (July 10 & July 13), Amma’s volunteers will provide free rides to and from public programs to the commuter rail station, at designated times coinciding with the MBTA commuter rail schedule.

On Monday, July 11, for a suggested $10 donation, Amma’s volunteers will provide rides from the Southborough commuter rail station to the retreat site in Marlborough at designated times coinciding with the MBTA commuter rail schedule for the Framingham/Worcester line.

If you would like to take the shuttle from the train to the program, please make sure to depart from, and arrive at, the correct MBTA commuter rail station for each program. Train information available here.

Sunday, July 10 - Public program in Boxborough - Take the Fitchburg/South Acton rail line and get off at the South Acton station.

Monday, July 11 - Retreat in Marlborough - Take the Framingham/Worcester rail line and get off at the Southborough station.

Wednesday, July 13 - Public program (Devi Bhava) in Marlborough - Take the Framingham/Worcester rail line and get off at the Southborough station.

Carpooling to and from Boxborough, by and for Amma program attendees!

This year the public programs on July 10th prior to the retreat will be held at the Holiday Inn in Boxborough, MA and not the Royal Plaza Hotel. The Holiday Inn is about 20 mins away from the Royal Plaza by car, just east of I-495 northbound at exit 28.

If you have a car:

If you will be lodging in or near Marlborough on Saturday, July 9th, we are encouraging carpooling as an efficient way for a large number of Sunday program attendees to travel between the Best Western (Marlborough) and Holiday Inn (Boxborough) hotels.

At the Best Western, a ride-seekers’ meeting place, marked by balloons, will be established just outside the side entrance (not the front/main entrance) of the hotel.

Before walking to their cars, drivers are encouraged to check for ride-seekers at this meeting place.

If you are staying at the Best Western and need a ride to the Holiday Inn:

A meeting place for you to find drivers has been established just outside the side entrance (not the front/main entrance) of the hotel. It will be marked by balloons. Drivers will likely begin checking this meeting place while walking to their cars, by 7:00-7:30 AM Sunday morning and most drivers will likely leave the hotel before 8:30 AM.

We are also encouraging carpooling to and from the hotels throughout the day — especially between the end of the morning program and the start of the evening program, and whenever drivers leave in the evening.

At the Holiday Inn in Boxborough, a similar meeting place for ride-seekers and drivers, marked by balloons, is just outside the Banquet entrance (side entrance, next to the program hall) of the hotel. Drivers are encouraged to check for ride-seekers at this meeting place before walking to their cars.

The shuttle driver will wait for pick-ups from a commuter train that arrives later than scheduled.

Late afternoon weekday pick-ups may be delayed a few minutes by rush hour traffic.

The last inbound commuter train of the night at Southborough (1:15 AM on Sunday night/Monday morning, and 12:34 AM on Wednesday night/Thursday morning) is a “flag stop” train. You must be standing on the platform, visible to the conductor, to stop the train.

The Framingham/Worcester commuter rail line originates at downtown Boston’s South Station, which is also served by Amtrak and interstate bus lines. It is possible to travel by the MBTA Silver Line (bus) between Logan (Boston) Airport and Boston’s South Station. Allow about an hour to get from the airport baggage claim area to South Station.
