Public Transportation from NYC, Penn Station

You will need to take Amtrak, along with the Commuter Rail (MBTA) and a taxi to the hotels and Trade Center.

If you are traveling to the Boston area by train on Sunday, July 10 and plan to proceed directly to the public program, take Amtrak From Penn Station NYC – to Back Bay Station (BBY). From Back Bay Station take the MBTA Orange Line (toward Oak Grove) to North Station. Follow instructions from North station below. Amtrak website.

If you are traveling to the Boston area by bus on Sunday, July 10 and wish to proceed to that day’s public programs in Boxborough:

From South Station, take the MBTA Red line subway (outbound toward Alewife). Get off at Downtown Crossing station. Switch to the Orange Line towards Oak Grove. Get off at North Station. You could also take a taxi from outside South Station to North Station. This is a trip of about 2 miles.

From North Station, take the the MBTA Fitchburg/South Acton Commuter Rail line and get off at the South Acton Commuter Rail stop. This is a trip of about 20 miles For schedule and stops information, please visit this link

At South Acton Commuter Rail Stop in South Acton, Massachusetts, you can either call a taxi to complete your trip, or you may be able to take the Amma shuttle. On Sunday, July 10, Amma’s volunteers will provide free rides from the South Acton commuter rail stop to the public programs at the Holiday Inn in Boxborough, at designated times coinciding with the MBTA commuter rail schedule for the Fitchburg/South Acton line. The shuttle operates on a limited schedule. This trip from South Acton to Boxborough is about 8 miles and 12 minutes. PLEASE VERIFY the shuttle schedule by visiting this link.

Taxis are available on a call basis from South Acton Commuter Station to the Holiday Inn. We strongly suggest that you call a taxi ahead of time to confirm availability and make arrangements.

If you plan to proceed to the Best Western Royal Plaza, take Amtrak From Penn Station NYC – to South Station Boston (BOS)

Amtrak Options
Option I

1. Take Amtrak from Penn Station NYC to South Station Boston.

2. From South Station, take the MBTA Worcester/Framingham Commuter Rail (Outbound) and get off at the Southborough Commuter Rail Station.

Option II

1. Alternatively, you can take Amtrak from Penn Station NYC to Worcester Union Station in Worcester, MA and connect with the MBTA Worcester/Framingham Commuter Rail (Inbound).

2. You need to get off at the Southborough Commuter Rail Station. Please note that based on Amtrak and Commuter Rail schedules, there may be only one connection between Amtrak and the Commuter Rail to Worcester each day. Option I to South Station has more connections.

At the Southborough Commuter Rail stop in Southborough, Massachusetts you can either call a taxi to complete your trip or you may be able to take the Amma shuttle.

On Monday, July 11, for a suggested $10 donation, Amma’s volunteers will provide rides from the Southborough commuter rail stop to the retreat site in Marlborough at designated times coinciding with the MBTA commuter rail schedule for the Framingham/Worcester line. The shuttle operates on a limited schedule. This trip from Southborough to Marlborough is about 10 miles and 20 minutes. PLEASE VERIFY the shuttle schedule by visiting this link.
