Holiday Food Drive

Posted on 03. Dec, 2009 by admin in Announcement

To Amma’s children, Amma is the greatest source of inspiration. She is an embodiment of Love and Compassion. Inspired by Her selfless giving Amma’s New England Satsangs will be having a Holiday Food Drive for the not so fortunate ones. The food will be donated to a shelter or food bank which is yet to be determined. It will be held at both Worcester and Lexington Satsangs this month. Please check the calendar for exact Satsang dates.

Kindly bring non-perishable food items, especially those that can be used to make a holiday meal.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

Let our hearts overflow with compassion! Aum Amriteshwaryai Namah!

    Aum Namah Shivaya!
Just a friendly heads up. While this seva is wonderful, it would be great to also do this sort of thing at times of the year when most of the homeless and hungry are neglected. I go to shelters every week with the bread seva and see year after year that shelters are WELL stocked during x-mass time because it’s the only time of the year that most people give. It’s the the rest of the year that needs our love and attention!
I’d love to see the community do something like this in February as well- when the homeless are still just as homeless and there are no cultural holidays that encourage remembering them.
