AmmaAmma’s Online Auction is currently offering very special AMMA items from Her recent Southern California tour as well as some miscellaneous auction items that have been donated by Amma’s loving devotees. The auction is online and bidding is now open.

Please visit http://auction.lasatsang.amma.org/index.php to place your valuable bid.

The online auction ends September 25th at 10pm (PST). Live Event bidding in Los Angeles will close Sept 26th at 8:30pm.

Net proceeds from this online auction will benefit Amma’s International Orphanage Projects. Web auctions in the past have contributed to many of Amma’s other humanitarian projects, including Amrita Kuteeram (Amma’s housing project), Disaster Relief efforts, and the Farmer Relief Project. The annual auctions have built houses in India for the poor, contributed to Hurricane Katrina funds, and supported both phases of the Tsunami relief efforts.

Amma’s International Orphanage Projects provide children with free food, accommodations, schooling, and vocational and cultural training.

The Parippally Orphanage is a particularly poignant example of Amma’s compassion for the needy and suffering. In 1989, when Amma directed the M.A.Math to take over this orphanage, it was operating under extreme dilapidated conditions. Today the orphanage is home to 570 boys and girls. Above all, the children have found in Amma a loving mother who gives them love and compassion. Through their loving relationship with her and the many Ashram residents who are dedicating most of their working hours to their education and general well-being, a sense of security and belonging has been instilled in the childrens’ hearts.

Amma’s Vidyamritam Project: For the past couple years, India has attracted international attention due to a continuing epidemic of suicide amongst its farmers. As part of the relief and rehabilitation program Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM) is providing permanent educational scholarships to 100,000 orphan children of farmers throughout India through the “Vidyamritam Project”. Already the first phase of 30,000 students from the states of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala is underway. Many of the beneficiaries are children who have lost one or both parents to suicide.

Amrita Watoto Boma, or Amrita Children’s Home, inaugurated by AMMA on April 4, 2009, is an orphanage in Kenya, Africa, that will ultimately be home to 108 children, providing them with shelter, food, education and health care.

We hope to continue our yearly growing support of Amma’s charitable projects.
