Amma Singing Bhajans
We are grateful to Swami Amritaswarupanandaji for his valuable feedback (Summer 2009) on our bhajan presentation. Based on his suggestions we have decided to hold regular bhajan practices every second Sunday and fourth Saturday of the month in Worcester as it is centrally located for all New Englanders. For address and directions please visit Worcester Satsang page. Kindly check the calendar for dates and times.
In case of inclement weather necessitating a change of venue, emails will be sent to all participants.
We would like the bhajans to reflect our shraddha (dedication) and bhakti (devotion) we feel toward Amma. In order to do so we will focus on the following:
- Ability to maintain a good pitch and rhythm
- Pronunciation of words and meaning
- Sing in harmony with the group
- Work dedicatedly as a group to ensure quality presentation
Those who wish to participate will need to attend at least 8 bhajan practices. Our FIRST bhajan practice will be held on January 10th beginning at 11:00 am.
Please come prepared with your bhajan books, instruments (if you play one) and a vegetarian dish to share during lunch. There will be additional practices before the monthly satsangs in Connecticut, Lexington and Pepperell. Childrens’ bhajan practice will be held separately. Please visit our website for updates.
Please send an email to Bina, amba5877@hotmail.com indicating your interest asap.
