CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN. The next Amma New England Clean-Up Day will be Saturday, April 23rd at 11am along the Mystic River in Arlington/Somerville. We will be meeting at a specific address. Please contact us for exact meeting location. Like before, please bring trash bags and gloves. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Clean SundayAs part of the Amala Bharatam Campaign (ABC), Amma has asked that we take a least one hour on the fourth Sunday of every month to make our neighborhood clean. Inspired by Amma’s teachings we decided to practice it in the Boston area. So this Sunday we thought it’d be a nice spiritual practice as a community to create Amma’s first CLEAN SUNDAY along Charles River. Here are the details:

  • When? March 27th, 10:00 am
  • What? We will be walking along the river and picking up trash and debris that has accumulated throughout the winter months. So don on your Amma gear - caps, t-shirts, hoodies and more. Bring the little ones, your friends, family, and doggies for a joyous morning putting into practice one of Amma’s teachings! Please bring trash bags and gloves.
  • Where? We will meet at the Charles River in Watertown Square. Intersection of Charles River Road and Mount Auburn St. in Watertown, MA. There is an abundance of parking along Charles River Road and the nearby side streets.

Feel free to email with any questions prior to the event. Looking forward to seeing you all this Sunday, our first CLEAN SUNDAY around Boston! Here is a link that will take you to the map shown below.

Thank you to everyone who came out today to celebrate the inauguration of Amala Bharatam Campaign (ABC) in the Boston area! This morning, six of Amma’s children walked the banks of the Charles River in Watertown to collect debris and trash left over from the winter months. It was a cold, windy morning but invigorating! We bagged trash and sorted recyclable materials. The whole process was about two hours and we left feeling good about our contributions to keeping our community and Mother Nature clean.

Future clean-ups in the Boston area will most likely be held on the fourth Saturday of the month to avoid conflicts with the Worcester Satsang and ABK. Stay tuned for updates about the next clean-up!

Please feel free to share any ideas about where to have future clean-ups.

Also, if you aren’t local to Boston, I encourage you to start clean-up projects in your own community.

Joy to Amma! Joy to Mother Earth!

    Aum Namah Shivaya,

Thanks for organizing our this event. It was was a great way to motivate myself to get out and get some fresh air while spending time in nature and doing service. Win-win all around. :-)

I’m now motivated to check out the river near my house to see what condition it is in and try to spend time every weekend doing some cleaning. It’s addictive.

    Jai Ma!
