Jill (who led the first session of Amma’s Kitchen in Manchester, CT) shares a note about the event:

We are so happy to announce that our first go at Mother’s Kitchen was a great success. Heartfelt thanks to Amma and M.A. Center charities for giving us this opportunity to serve. This seva was held on Jan 23, Saturday from 7 pm to 9 pm.

There were about 16 people from the shelter that is located above the soup kitchen. The Shelter holds up to 40 people and Mother’s Kitchen only serves those in the shelter. The philosophy of this organization is to try to help them in any and every way possible to get them back on their feet so that they may live a self sufficient life. They do this with a lot of support from many different services. Above all, it is done with compassion and love.

A warm note of thanks to all volunteers who helped. We will make contact this week with the coordinator to schedule the next Mother’s Kitchen. We look forward to the next session of Mother’s Kitchen and having everyone experience Amma’s love through this seva.

Mother’s Love to All, Jill
