Amrita Bala Kendra

Some people doubt whether children should meditate and do japa at such a young age... The training and discipline which are given in youth will create a strong impression in the mind and play a great role in the building of character. Parents should take care not only to feed and fulfill the wishes of their children but also to discipline them, instilling faith and good culture. - Amma

Amrita Bala Kendra

Amrita Bala Kendra (ABK) is Amma’s tool to give children values, prayers, culture, scriptural studies, and to help make them productive citizens who will serve humanity.

  • All children are welcome to attend ABK. All lessons are based on the teachings of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. True benefit is gained only when attendance is regular and the lessons are practiced in day to day activities.
  • Amma has designed the exact material that is covered in classes, including specific slokas, holidays, deities, values, and much more.
  • Amma strongly emphasizes the practice of values and life application.
  • This education develops students to be integrated, productive citizens of the world. (See handout on time to change a habit – handouts will be provided)
